Parkwood Rocks!

PUMC invites you to the first annual “Parkwood-Fest” Saturday, Sept 13 from 11:30 AM – 5 PM on the front lawn of the church. Featuring the Roberts, Muse & Allman families, the style will be “Good time Rock, Rhythm & Blues!” The concert is free and open to the public. Yack it up & bring your friends! There will be food and drinks available. Bring your lawn chair or a blanket. An offering will be received to benefit our mission outreach. We'd like to ask for your help as individuals and/or groups. Olly would like to be able to offer Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, drinks, etc at no cost and then "pass a basket" for donations.

The Friday Feast Returns

As we move into August, and the summer winds down, our thoughts turn to Fall, Football and FRIDAY FEAST. We will kickoff our “Feast” season with a great meal and a great movie. It all begins on Friday, September 5th at 6:00 p.m. and continues every Friday evening through November 21st with movies on the first Friday of each month. There is no charge. Donations are gratefully excepted to help cover the cost of food. The first menu will include pulled pork or beef sandwiches, chips, salad and chocolate or yellow cake. The movie will be “Fiddler On The Roof”. So bring your lawnchair (for the movie viewing) and join us for some great food and fellowship. Hope we see all of you there.

We need your help and input. There will be a meeting for all people interested in helping with Friday Feast on Sunday, Aug. 10 right after the 11 a.m. service. If you are willing to help in any way, such as cooking, setup/cleanup, making dessert or salad or if you have ideas about this mission, please plan to attend the meeting.

Spiritual Opportunities

THE JACOB CLASS - The Jacob class began it's study "Tales from the Madhouse" in July and continues through August.

Ever have an encounter with Jesus? "Tales from the Madhouse" is the study of eight people who did have such an encounter and turned away. Each character is portrayed in a 14 minute video set in a Victorian England manor house/asylum.

Characters we will look at include Pilate's wife, Barabbas, the Centurion and 5 others.

Please come to the Jacob class for this look at what could have been.

The Jacob class meets in room 1 at 9:30.

THE SEEKERS CLASS - The second Sunday in January, the Seekers Class began a long term study of the Bible. We will cover a large part of the Book. In the month of May, we will focus on the Exodus, and the time wandering in the wilderness. As a people of one Book, we can never spend enough time studying the Bible. Every time we read a passage, something fresh and new should come to us. There will be ample time for class participation, but lessons will be structured for those who prefer instruction to encounter. Please pray about this and consider whether this is something that God is calling you to do. We plan to try to start class promptly at 9:30 and limit caring and sharing time to fifteen minutes so that our study will be the focus of the class.

Please consider joining this class and inviting friends and neighbors to join the class.
