Are You Ready to Fight?
February 9, 2012 —
Last week, you may have been surprised to discover that Satan is currently ruler of this world. That is why there is so much pain and suffering. That is why bad things happen to you even when you work hard and try to be a good person. But Satan’s rule is only temporary. So if you go along to get along, you will spend a tormented eternity in the Lake of Fire with Satan. What can you do? You can join the insurgency and fight!
Jesus says in John 10:10, “Satan’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give a rich and satisfying life.” When you give your life to Jesus, he says, “Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy!” (Luke 10:19)
The Bible tells believers to “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” (Ephesians 6:11-18 ) The Bible tells believers to “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7) The Bible tells believers that “Though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” (2 Corinthians 10:3-4) Are you ready to fight?
Have you put your faith in Jesus as your Savior?
Will I see you in church Sunday?
Grace & blessings,
Pastor Bob
