Small Group Opportunities
Listening Circles
We’ve started new small groups called “Listening Circles,” where 5-8 people get together, have dinner and play a game, called “My Neighbor’s Voice,” at least once per month. The card game “My Neighbor’s Voice” is played by each person picking a card with a category on it, and that person has three minutes to answer the question or prompt on the card. The main rule is no cross-talk: the rest of the group must listen and no one can respond to someone’s answer. After each person has answered a card, you debrief: how did you experience that session? What did you learn about your neighbors? It’s a wonderful way to be intentional about how getting to know your neighbors and build bridges across topics where there are often divides. Lectio Divina
Starting on Wednesday, February 7 at noon, we will start a hybrid (online and in-person) small group gathering where we will read scripture using an ancient practice called Lectio Divina, and the purpose of this kind of reading is to listen: both listen for how God or how the text is speaking into our lives, today. We will also have some time for visiting and getting to know one another, in-person and online. This time will be offered each Wednesday @ noon until March 20th, then we’ll take a two-week break, and resume on Wednesday, April 10 @ noon.
