Hurricane Relief for Eastern North Carolina

Carolina Peace Center will be taking another truck next weekend (Sept 28 or 29) so the Parkwood UMC site (5123 Revere Road, Durham, NC) will continue gathering supplies. Please bring ONLY things that can be used immediately without electricity. If you do bring clothing, think t-shirts and jeans and sturdy shorts, not dressy clothing. Plus sizes are in high demand but clothing for women, men, and children is

Items Needed

  • Baby formula (all kinds)
  • Diapers (all kinds)
  • Feminine Hygiene Products (all kinds)
  • Hygiene products (soaps, shampoos, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.)
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Batteries (all sizes)
  • Non-perishable, high protein foods (like protein bars) that do not need cooking.
  • Cleaning supplies and disinfectant wipes (trash bags, Lysol, sponges, gloves, etc.)
  • Paper goods (plates, cups, bowls, utensils, etc.)
  • Water bottles
  • For clean up (some of the most needed items)
  • Respirators with filters (or face masks), rope, crow bars, waders, gloves, bleach, trash bags

2018 Parkwood UMC Summer Arts Camp

 

Parkwood United Methodist Church invites children, ages 3 year through rising 5th graders to join us for fun and art, as we learn to love like God and grow in compassion for others.

Our 2018 Creative Arts Camp is July 8 – 11 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Parkwood United Methodist Church, 5123 Revere Road Durham NC.

Parkwood United Methodist Men Host Annual Chili Cook-Off

Come have a wonderful lunch with friends and help decide who has the best Chili around!

The Parkwood UMM Chili Cook-off is tomorrow, January 28th, after the 11:00 am worship service. The UMM will prepare their “Buzzard’s Breath Chili” and cook-off contestants will each compete with their own special recipes.

Cornbread and desserts will be provided by members of our Parkwood United Methodist Women.

Come to the Table - January 20, 2018 at Parkwood UMCLooking for an opportunity to have an awesome meal? Amazing conversation? Moving Worship? Then, Come to the Table is for you!

All are invited to our January edition. The church will provide bread, rolls, crackers, salad, and drinks. You’ll need to bring a delicious pot of soup or stew to share. Desserts are very much appreciated too!

We will celebrate “Small World” Preschool with this special evening of worship, fellowship and thanksgiving.

The dinner for Come to the Table this month is a Pot Luck meal. Bring a dish or two to share.

We will close the service with communion.

Parkwood United Methodist Youth Fellowship invite you for a morning of family fun!

Our Fall Funanza will feature a bounce house, face painting, games and more. There will also be a special areas for our smaller toddler friends.

Parkwood United Methodist Men to Visit AAF Tank Museum

Join the Parkwood United Methodist Men as we visit the American Armored Foundation Tank and Ordinance War Memorial Museum in Danville, VA on Saturday, September 30th. The AAF Tank Museum’s purpose is to educate the general public as to the sacrifices made by so many military men and women.

We plan on being at the museum when it opens at 10 am. After touring the museum, we will have lunch at a place to be determined. Please feel free to invite friends or anyone you think will be interested! Please contact Philip White if you are interested in going.
