Parkwood UMC and the 50th Durham CROP Hunger Walk
The CROP walk is not just something we do every year, it really makes a difference in the lives of others around the world and in my community. 75% of the CROP money raised goes to Church World Service, who works to meet immediate hunger needs, welcome and provide housing and food for refugees and immigrants, and they are working to empower those on the margins out of poverty. 25% of the money raised goes to local agencies in right here in Durham who are working to feed folks and families and empower those on the margins. Please help us meet our goal of $3,000 by giving to CROP today.

Meal Packing at Rise Against Hunger
Saturday, March 18, we will meet @ 8:15 AM in the parking lot on Revere Rd. right across the street from PUMC, before we drive or carpool together to our Rise Against Hunger Event in Raleigh (3200 Wellington Ct #112, Raleigh, NC 27615). We’ve allocated for 3 hours (9 AM-noon) for this event, but we are likely to finish sooner, especially if enough volunteers show up. We will pack and send out 14,500 meals to be sent worldwide to areas of need. They will give us everything we need (hairnets, gloves, instructions, etc.), so we just need to bring ourselves. (We will find out at a later time where exactly these meals were sent.) Look forward to seeing many of you then!
